ABOUT US
CMI established an office and 1,000-square-foot recovery meeting space at 38 Curtiss Parkway in Miami Springs, Florida. Shortly after opening, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of in-person AA meetings across Miami-Dade County for nearly a year.
In 2021, working with the City of Miami Springs and the Miami-Dade County Attorney’s Office, CMI helped secure recognition of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings as an essential service. This allowed meetings to safely resume and the Miami Springs recovery room to reopen.
During this time, CMI supported AA groups while also expanding access to meeting space for other 12-step fellowships impacted by pandemic-related closures. These included Al-Anon Family Groups, BIRDS (AA meetings for professional pilots), Narcotics Anonymous, Neuroticos Anonimous, and the Phoenix Group of Miami-Dade County firefighters.
In 2025, CMI’s trustees established a separate Florida nonprofit, 305 Recovery Inc., to support a broader range of recovery organizations based on the 12 Steps and Traditions while CMI continues on its primary purpose of supporting Alcoholics Anonymous Groups.
